On Thursday, November 11 Alex was featured at the first New Music/Research showcase concert for the 2021 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. The theme for the concert was “poetic percussion.” He performed Rania Chrysostomou’s Τίλλειν for an intimate percussionist. The piece calls for bongos, two wood blocks, and wind gong, the latter of which the performer is asked to play with prescribed hand gestures while speaking Greek text authored by the composer.
