Alex co-authored an article in the February 2024 issue of Percussive Notes, the Percussive Arts Society’s bi-monthly publication. This particular issue is devoted to diversity in percussion, and the article, titled “Beating the Divide,” stems from an open discussion held at the 2022 Percussive Arts Society International Convention by the Diversity Alliance’s Socioeconomic Subdivision, which Alex leads. The article highlights concerns raised during the discussion and offers a pathway to help combat issues of inequalities in percussion education on the local and national level.
